In the early stage of the project, through the implementation of four unmanned missions, as well as Shenzhou V and Shenzhou VI manned missions, we have broken through and mastered the manned space shuttle technology, making China the third country with the ability to independently carry out manned space activities, and achieving the goal of the first step of the project. By carrying out the Shenzhou-7 mission and the rendezvous and docking missions between Tiangong-1 and Shenzhou-8, Shenzhou-9 and Shenzhou-10, we have made breakthroughs in and mastered the technologies for extravegeable activities of astronauts and space rendezvous and docking, and built China's first experimental space laboratory, marking the complete completion of the first phase of the second step of the project
